On Christmas eve while her train is stopped at a train station, mystery enthusiast, Nikki Collins (Deanna Durbin) witnesses a murder committed in a nearby building. She enlists the aid of mystery writer, Wayne Morgan (David Bruce), as the plot to find who killed Josiah Waring unfolds.
