Lola Albright (July 20, 1924 – March 23, 2017) Was probably best known for her role as Edie Hart, Peter Gunn’s love interest, in the TV show bearing the character’s name. For the first two seasons she sings in a local jazz club called Mother’s, by the last season she was running the joint. Continue reading “Lola Albright”

Who’s That Girl?
While watching “The Case of the Ill-Fated Faker” (1960) last night, towards the end of the episode, Perry asks cocktail waitress “Francis Banks” to stand, at which point confessions started to fly. It was an outstanding episode, but when Ms. Banks arose, I immediately thought it was Lola Albright from Peter Gunn, but since the actress was un-credited, and never spoke or smiled, we may never know. To stir the pot, I rewound the episode and took a screen shot. Is it Lola?
EDIT (02/21/24): Sometime after posting this queation, the imdb was updated to claim it was Donna Hayes, but it shows she only showed in one episode, The Case of the Envious Editor. I’ll admit here is a resemblance, so, who knows?

Colonel March of Scotland Yard
Based on a character in John Dickson Carr’s The Department of Queer Complaints, Boris Karloff plays detective Colonel March. In this 26 episode television series we find Colonel March solve “unsolvable” mysteries. Being only 30 minutes long the mysteries don’t go very deep and in in the case of at least one episode, had a very “Scooby Doo” vibe to it. As of this writing it is available on TUBI
The role of Colonel March allowed Boris, then age 65, to go back to England to go into semi-retirement and visit old friends.
